Korean guy marries pillow

28-year-old Lee Jin-gyu got married last month with his ‘dakimakura’ – a kind of large, huggable pillow from Japan, often with a picture of a popular anime character printed on the side.

In Lee’s case, his beloved pillow has an image of Fate Testarossa, from Japanese anime series Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.

The Korean has wed the pillow in a special ceremony, after fitting it out with a wedding dress for the service in front of a local priest.

Woman trapped in washing machine

Korean fire department rescued 36-year-old Mrs Kim after she became trapped in her washing machine on April 14 in her home in Juan-dong.

Mrs Kim had been sitting on the washing machine on her apartment’s veranda that morning to smoke a cigarette when she lost her balance and fell into the machine, pushing her body into a V-shape and leaving her trapped, the state in which her husband discovered her and called 119.

The rescue team used a cutting tool to break through the washing machine and rescue Mrs Kim, and fortunately Mrs Kim sustained no visible injury.

Korean farmer with 85 satellite dishes

Besides being an addictive hobby, the Antenna Man’s obsession actually helps the local community, especially for poor foreign brides living in rural South Korea, so they can receive broadcasts from their home countries.

According to stats, 4 out of 10 women who married in rural communities last year were foreign born.
